6 Design Tips to Freshen up Your Home this Spring

Filed in Lifestyle — May 1, 2024

It’s finally spring!

I’ll be totally honest with you. Our love of historic homes can be hard! We’ve moved quite a few times and after fixing up a masterpiece of an 1885 Victorian we fell in love with a 1930s English Tudor and started packing. We’ve been leasing a lovely home nearby but space has been a bit tight, so we’ve leaned in to the little things to make our (temporary) house a home.

Here are some minor design projects you can do in your home to welcome spring, too!

Freshen up your space this spring

  • Paint weather-worn areas
  • Visit a plant nursery (or home depot!) for new hanging plants and pots
  • New runners & rugs – Wayfair is one of my favorite places for steals, including the one pictured!
  • New picnic blankets and baskets. The best part of spring is enjoying the outdoor spaces in your home.
  • Fresh baking sets. After a long winter full of comfort foods and holiday baking, toss the grease covered sets and start fresh.
  • Millwork. It’s not nearly as expensive as it makes a space look. It’s a low-stress and reasonably priced investment. 10/10 recommend.

Cheers to a beautiful spring and a long summer!
